Biden fails test on pro-Hamas thuggery at colleges — prez as bankrupt on morality as he is on policy

President Biden made all the right noises about campus protests Thursday morning — weeks too late.

Plainly, the White House saw the polling on how the issue is killing it.

A timely and full-throated condemnation of the antisemitic protests raging at college campuses across America should’ve come at least a month ago.

Or at least a week ago, when the madness kicked into high gear.

Instead, the nation only got a pathetic “both sides” statement in Biden’s name.

And when the prez himself finally spoke Thursday, it was lame.

He covered the obvious truths:Dissent is essential to democracy but dissent must never lead to disorder. There’s a right to protest but not a right to cause chaos

But on the heart of the matter — the fact that, at this very moment, American college kids whipped up by professional agitators have taken up the cause of genocidal Islamism and are lashing out against American Jews — Biden quailed.

He condemned antisemitism, but in the same breath (as is now de rigueur for all Democrats) condemned Islamophobia.

Huh? There’s zero Islamophobia at these protests

Quite the opposite, in fact: A Stanford protester was spotted wearing an actual Hamas headband, not to mention the campus chants for Hamas to kill more Jews.

But Biden can’t stop playing to the deranged Jew-haters of the Squad and their acolytes in Michigan, nodding to the phantom “Islamophobia” menace and so concealing the ugly truth.

It had been 10 days since Biden last spoke publicly; he took no questions and walked off after just a few minutes, as if to say, Fine, I did what my handlers wanted.

Then again, Biden’s response to Israel’s justified and humane counterattack against Hamas has been driven by short-term, narrow political considerations from the start.

A full 80% — 80%! — of registered voters back Israel more than Hamas in the war, yet Biden’s more worried about Rashida Tlaib’s shrieks and Jamaal Bowman’s bluster.

Oh, and his drive to bribe college kids to vote this fall: Even with the protests dominating the news this week, the White House announced yet more student loan “relief,” $6.1 billion worth this time.

From the economy to the border, Biden’s already failed the test on every issue he’s confronted.

Thursday’s speech shows he’s failing on the moral issues as well
